Outdoor rope strappado

The weather was nice these past days, so I really wanted to do an outside shoot! This is a very special one, because I was on a hiking trail and people could come up to me at any minute… and I couldn’t see them because of all the trees! I am tied in a rope strappado, and there is absolutely no way I can escape. Strappados are my favorites, and I know a lot of you like them too! It is actually a very old torture method, because your shoulders are rotated as far as they go and it gets harder and harder because your weight is pulling you down, raising your arms even more! Very exciting to be outside like this!

I agree with Matt.
You are right Gina the strappado is a form of torture from the medieval days. The poor victim would hang high or be on tip toes, if they hung them up high they would tie weights to ankles, another thing could do (which makes me cringe) they raise victim up and then drop them but stop the fall before they touch ground. The thing about this torture was that it would cause massive pain but not kill them instantly.

Strappado is a form of torture in which the victim’s hands are first tied behind his or her back and suspended in the air by means of a rope attached to wrists, which most likely dislocates both arms. Weights may be added to the body to intensify the effect and increase the pain.
